Leading into a New Year

Four basics to start a new year of ministry.

God’s character, God's love and commitment to the church means that He prepares the church for what is next.

Last week - 2020 preparation – boot camp – not the battle

Not everybody makes it thru boot camp – those who do are equipped for a battle

1.   Watch your load

Hebrews 12:1

2 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Scripturally we know that doing less is what produces more.

John 15:1-2

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.

2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

2.   Remember that God is at work in all situations.

Genesis 1:2

2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3.   Remember that there will be conflict.

2 Cor 4:8-9

8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;  9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

4.   Get ready to change – be flexible
